The fishing is really picking up on the Joe. We have been getting them on nymphs, streamers and dry flies.
If your driving bobbers down river fish 5 feet from the bobber to the point fly with no weight. Pat's rubber leg and a 12-14 bead head nymph 16 inches behind your point fly.
If your fishing dry flies run a October caddis in the riffles and high banks and switch to a small rusty spinner or mahogany when your fishing the runs and glides size 16-20.
Focus on the high bank and good buckets if your stripping streamers. Olive and natural have been productive. You don't need much weight if any at all. 7.5 feet intermediate - 3ips tip with 2-3 feet of 10 lbs maximum will do the trick! Basically fall is around the corner and the fish are hungry!
Fishing the glinds requires accurate cast and long leaders with 5 or 6 x tippit. Be patient and hunt for heads. If you see a fish sipping wait for it to drop back down don't just cast right to it. Learn the fishes feeding lane watch the fish behavior so you can improve your angling.
