Our destination is the Idaho Panhandle, home to the wild and scenic St. Joe River, and I’m your guide and owner of White Pine Outfitters, Tyler Nash. The St. Joe River stretches 140 miles through the stunning Idaho Panhandle National Forest, with its crystal-clear waters, rugged beauty, and incredible dry fly fishing for the iconic Westslope Cutthroat trout.
I grew up in Colorado, living the kind of western outdoor life most only dream of—fly fishing and hunting with my dad from an early age. After years of guiding backcountry hunters and even riding rodeo bulls, I made my way to Idaho to turn my dream into reality by opening a fly shop and outfitting business. Now, I get to explore the St. Joe from top to bottom and share it with folks like you.
As we fish this pristine river, I'll share my personal stories—like chasing Grand Ronde rainbows and steelhead, and one unforgettable adventure involving a sunken drift boat, a soaking wet client, and a police helicopter. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I enjoy telling these stories!
Join me and Steve Haigh as we dive into all that the St. Joe and Idaho have to offer.
